However sideloading puts an app on your phone just like if you were to install it from the appstore, which means anything the apps do are still limited by what you can do in non-jailbroken ios. But on the other hand many people have made/tweaked apps that would never be approved by apple that can be installed this way. Its pretty useful for things like OP’s app idea.

There already some mobile miners for monero. On my iPhone 6s, I get about 12h/sec when plugged in, you d get 1$ per month mining 24/24. That s soo insignificant that no one will ever bother using it.

Thats kinda the idea behind this currency, to attract a broad user base. Revenue is based on many factors, diff, price of coin, price of electricity in the users area, etc, so each individual user's mileage may vary. And a setting in the miner to mine only when plugged in is a simple fix to the battery drain issue. The only hassle I can see would be the initial set up and wallet creation. Basically set it and forget it and have a few ETN for a loot box or DLC content at the end of the month ( we are targeting the gamer market after all) Obviously there are many nuances that would need addressing for any mobile miner to be successful but I think it's a little short sighted to write off the idea just yet.
