I looked on the profit calculator which gave a break down over 24 months and it shows the returns greatly decreasing month after month? I thought Masternodes were a passive income granting the same amount each month? Sorry this may sound really silly but very interested in trying to get my head around it. The rewards and node income decreases because the amount of SMART generated with each new block goes down. The formula is 5000 *(143500/block#), meaning that at block 300k, when Smartnodes start generating, each block generates about 2500 SMART, of which the nodes get 10% in a round robin of all active nodes. Next month (about 47000 blocks later) the block reward goes down to around 2100. The rate of decrease is rapid now but flattens out over the next few years. So while the node reward goes down, it is in proportion to the amount of SMART being generated.
